Spring Semester

NUE2007 Overview of Nuclear Engineering (핵공학개론) - Spring semester of 2nd Grade

This course will cover the over view of the nuclear engineering including nuclear physics, neutron cross section, neutron attenuation, neutron energy loss mechanism, radiation interactions with matter, fission reaction, nuclear reactors, nuclear fuel cycle, radiation applications, etc. This course will prepare the students for the advanced nuclear engineering courses.

NUE3033 Application of Medical Radiation (의료방사선응용공학) - Spring semester of 4th Grade

Medicine is a field where nuclear energy is widely applied. This course introduces the medical application of radiation based on the understanding of the principles of radiation generated by radioactive isotopes and radiation generators. In this course, the basic principles, equipment, and techniques of radiation therapy are discussed. Through team projects, we will explore the latest technologies and practical clinical applications.

GEN5029 Career DevelopmentⅠ: Roadmap for Job Searching and Startup (커리어개발Ⅰ:취.창업진로로드맵)

Career Development I, a course for freshmen, is a group lesson designed to promote students' understanding of college and study and to improve the adaptability of college life. For new students entering college, this class provides training and methods for self-development including the basic etiquette of school life and time management and directions for more rewarding school life.

COE1010 Practical Engineering Research Initiative 1 (실용공학연구1)

This is a lab internship course for students in the first semester of the third year of Nuclear Engineering. It is designed to provide students with a systematic study of the research carried out in the laboratory. This course is for students who are interested in radiation science/medicine and radiation safety to learn about their field of research while carrying out simple research themes for one semester.

COE1012 Practical Engineering Research Initiative 3 (실용공학연구3)

This is a lab internship course for students in the first semester of the fourth year of Nuclear Engineering. It is designed to provide students with a systematic study of the research carried out in the laboratory. This course is for students who are interested in radiation science/medicine and radiation safety to learn about their field of research while carrying out simple research themes for one semester.

Fall Semester

NUE3038 Radiation Doses & Biological Effects (방사선량과 생물학적 영향) - Fall semester of 2nd Grade

To understand the radiation exposure and its consequences, the meaning and definition of radiation dose are studied. The focus will be on the equivalent dose, effective dose, committed dose, and dose equivalent defined by ICRU. This course is to understand the physical, chemical, biochemical, biological processes and dose-response relationships that occur in living organisms with radiation exposure and ultimately discuss the effects on the human body. Also, we will cover the principles of radiation protection.

GEN5100 Career Development II: Portfolio and Business model Creation (커리어개발Ⅱ: 취.창업진로포트폴리오)

This course is designed to enable students who are in the second semester of the third year of college to carry out an intermediate evaluation of the career road map designed in the first grade Career Development I class and to explore their career in depth based on various knowledge and plans. This course is designed to grasp the necessary competence and plan for the future career so as to realize employment and future vision in personal life.

COE1011 Practical Engineering Research Initiative 2 (실용공학연구2)

This is a lab internship course for students in the fall semester of the third year of Nuclear Engineering. It is designed to provide students with a systematic study of the research carried out in the laboratory. This course is for students who are interested in radiation science/medicine and radiation safety to learn about their field of research while carrying out simple research themes for one semester.

COE1013 Practical Engineering Research Initiative 4 (실용공학연구4)

This is a lab internship course for students in the fall semester of the fourth year of Nuclear Engineering. It is designed to provide students with a systematic study of the research carried out in the laboratory. This course is for students who are interested in radiation science/medicine and radiation safety to learn about their field of research while carrying out simple research themes for one semester.

Graduate School

NUE9039 Particle Beam Radiation Therapy (입자방사선치료)

Currently, most radiation therapy uses high-energy X-rays, but the use of particle beam radiation therapy using proton or carbon ions is rapidly increasing around the world. This course is designed to familiarize students with the basic physical and biological principles of particle beam radiation therapy as well as the technical principles. In addition, the general treatment process of particle beam radiation therapy will be reviewed from commissioning to treatment delivery, and practical clinical application cases of particle beam radiation therapy will be discussed.

4408011 Radiobiology (방사선생물학)

Radiobiology is the study of the effects of radiation and radioactive materials on life phenomena and their systems. This course helps us understand the basic principles of radiology at the engineering student level to understand the biological effects of radiation, as well as the human body effects, and help to understand the biological principles of radiation therapy.
